Especificación de unidades

Onshape defaults to inches and degrees for length and angle measurements for all documents. However, you can modify the default units of measurement at any point of your design for any particular document or workspace. The method for setting units is discussed below:

  1. Invoke the Document menu by clicking on the ≡ icon (three horizontal lines) next to the Onshape logo at the top left corner, see Figure 2.8.

  2. Click on the Workspace units option in the Document menu, refer to Figure 2.8. The Workspace units dialog appears, see Figure 2.9.

  3. Select the required length and angle units of measurement, as well as their precision, from the respective drop-down lists in the Workspace units dialog.

  4. After selecting the required units of measurement and precision for the current design document, click on the green checkmark ☑️ to confirm the selection and exit the dialog.

Note: The units set in the Workspace units dialog apply as the default units for the current document only. To set the default unit for all new documents, click on your name or Account user icon in the upper right corner of the Onshape window (see Figure 2.10) and then select the My account option from the menu that appears. The My account Profile page appears, see Figure 2.11. In this page, click on the Preferences option to access the My account Preferences page. Next, scroll down to the Units section in the right panel of the My account Preferences page and then select the required default units of measurement. Next, click on the Save changes button at the bottom of the Units section.

After setting the default units for all new documents in the My account Preferences page, click on the Return to document option available at the top-right corner of the window (see Figure 2.12) to switch back to the currently active document.
